This is a bespoke course designed for managers whom are responsible for researching, planning, and organising the activities for working within confined spaces. The role of a confined space manager is predominantly office based and may (or may not) actually supervise the entry. The management of the work in the confined space, the legislative roles & responsibilities, as well as the health & safety, equipment and rescue requirements will be the primary focus of this course.
Students will usually have completed a confined space entry qualification to the level they wish to manage.
To train and assess individuals in order to demonstrate the requirements for safe working in a confined space, as deemed by the Confined Space Regulations 1997, as well as the other associated legislation.
A combination of classroom based activity, syndicate working and presentations/demonstrations, practical application and City and Guilds examination. A wide range of video and photographic material is used to enhance the learning experience for delegates. A portfolio of evidence will be built by each delegate during the course program.
A process of continual assessment, a written exam and practical assessment - successful candidates will certified by Element Safety Ltd to manage confined space working.
A Level 5 Management Course, this is mainly classroom based, with some partner working and practical application, as well as demonstrations and presentations. A selection of audio visual material is used to reinforce learning objectives and assist gathering of evidence by the student for their portfolio. Students may supply evidence from their workplace to assist the building of their portfolios prior to the course.
Students may require good computer skills, levels of spoken and written English and be able to communicate well.
