This course is designed for:

Anyone, with no previous experience, who require the skills to safely work on slopes up to 45 degrees and/or supervise others on embankments and be able to facilitate a rescue.

 

Course aims:

To train and assess individuals to manage and maintain their own and their co-workers safety while working on slopes, or supervising operators working on slopes - be able to act effectively in an emergency to rescue an operator.

 

The course covers:

  • Give an understanding of the requirements for safe work at height
  • Highlight the need for a basic site risk assessment
  • Provide a system to assist with safety when working on embankments
  • Ensure the correct use and limitations of the system are understood
  • Provide a sound understanding of how to set up a use the system
  • Allow time to practice setting up and using the system for safe work
  • Provide an understanding of how to use the system for recovery
  • Allow time to practice setting up and using the system for recovery
  • Ensure the components can be correctly checked and re-stowed
