This course is designed for:

Anyone currently qualified to work at height, in accordance with The Work at Height Regulations 2005, who requires the ability to rescue a co-worker after an incident while working at height.

 

Course aims:

To train and assess individuals to safely gain access to, provide immediate care for and/or rapid recovery of a co-worker, including one who has fallen into suspension, after an incident at height.

 

The course covers:

  • Legislation relating to rescue plans - Work at Height Regulations 2005
  • Risk assessments
  • Planning and preparing for rescues
  • Orthostatic intolerance (suspension syncope/trauma)
  • Getting to the casualty
  • Access methods and platforms
  • Fall protection - maintaing personal safety
  • Fall factors - types of injury sustained in a fall
  • PPE for rescue/casualties
  • Fall/suspension immediate casualty care
  • Rescue equipment types and pre-made kits/packs
  • Anchors and load requirements
  • Casualty rescue from platforms
  • Casualty rescue from suspension
  • Raising and lowering of casualty
  • Casualty care and handover
  • Paperwork after the incident
