So what does this mean?

This 1 day course will give an awareness in the morning, delving deeper for managers in the afternoon.

It will also help you ask the right questions. There will be opportunities to discuss scenarios, explore problems, develop solutions and the equipment that needs to be in place.

The team responsible for safety need to know more so…

– we can assist the designers and team managers to create more informed and better solutions to the construction problems of the new project

– we’re confident in taking clearer action on the ground due to the greater knowledge we’ve gained

– we can create more appropriate risk assessed methods of working and rescue

It gives the opportunity to talk through potential alternative solutions. Sometimes you can be too close to a problem, and how are you supposed to know what you don’t know!

As a client – I pay others to look after this, don’t I …?

You can be advised, but ultimately you and your management team are responsible.

You need to be able to know the risks, mitigate these and be able to know at a glance if people are working correctly and following procedures that you are responsible for.

Work At Height Manager

As a maintenance manager, myself and my supervising team need to be able access everywhere, and are supposed to know the inner workings of everything!

It’s a tough and extensive role – so whilst they climb up and work on that silo, I need to know what my maintenance teams need – to keep them safe.

Work At Height Manager

As the facilities manager, I’m responsible for the team’s day to day work.

Not just the task, but access, staying safe, lifting tools, moving machine parts and planning for rescue if something were to go wrong…

It’s my duty to step back and plan the whole job safely…
