This rescue from height training course builds on your skills, allowing your team to be an integral part of your rescue plan, supporting your height teams or a suspended co-worker – should an incident occur.
If your height teams need immediate help, then training and equipping an in-house rescue team or your work at height teams to rescue from height may be the answer.
Rescue Team Competence:
Rescue from height (if good planning and training are in place) happens very infrequently.
However, the seriousness and potential skill fade from low incident frequency and as such requires rescue skills have to be revalidated every 2 years to maintain competence.
To train and assess individuals to safely gain access to, provide immediate care for and/or rapidly recover a co-worker, including one who has fallen into suspension, after an incident at height.
Strongly suggest undertaking additional medical training
Life happens!
However we can, and must, prepare for reasonably foreseeable problems. Equipment defects, injured or incapacitated personnel, environmental issues can all happen.
This means you need a rescue plan, training and equipment to save a life.
This rescue from height training course will give knowledge, skills and structure to a rescue.
Whilst the maintenance team are working on an overhead gantry, one of the height team falls. Their fall arrest lanyard has caught them, but they are left suspended in mid air.
We know how uncomfortable it is to be suspended, blood is pooling in the legs, the airway may be blocked – time is imperative to access, stabilise and assist the casualty whilst awaiting the paramedics.
As a manager of an experienced sampling team on tall industrial chimneys, I know how exposed you are all day. Weather can change quickly and fatigue can lead to accidents. Whilst on a vertical ladder an injured foot, hand or head can lead to being suspended in fall arrest in a difficult space.
Unable to move and restricted access by the rest of the team, a rescue from height solution is required quickly before the situation gets worse.
As the manager, I’m responsible for the team’s day to day work.
Not just the job, but accessing the task, staying safe and planning for rescue if something were to go wrong…
It’s my duty to step back and plan the whole job safely…
If someone needed to be down (or up) in an emergency, who would do it, with what equipment and how would it be done?
• Aggregate engineers • Plastic moulding manufacturers • Environmental consultants
